Tent of Meeting

God’s Word..so rich & beautiful. From Numbers 7 v. 89: “When Moses entered the Tent of Meeting to speak with The LORD, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the atonement cover on the ark of the Testimony. And he spoke with him.”

I just LOVE everything about this precious Word hidden in a book that is so easy to just skip over for most of us. The last verse in a rather unusual chapter of Scripture, speaking in great, exact repetition of the offerings given tribe by tribe for the dedication of the altar.

Moses entered the Tent of Meeting. Not just any tent..but the Tabernacle where Almighty God chose to come down & meet with His people. Do I have a tent of meeting with God? A secret place where I can meet with my Lord? What a precious picture. It gets better. Moses entered to speak with The LORD. We can talk to God..in Christ (our Covering, our “Tent”) we can speak/converse with God. Oh what amazing joy! Today is the U.S. National Day of Prayer. Will The Almighty hear your voice? And my favorite part: “he (Moses) heard the voice speaking to him“. There is no greater joy in my life than to hear God speak to my heart..”Rhema”..God’s spoken, revealed Word. God wants to converse with us..to illumine His written Word to our hearts & minds, to shine Shekinah Glory and give us eyes to see & ears to hear..HIM! The last sentence says, “And he spoke with him”.  Is God speaking to you today? Are you speaking to Him? Are you listening? Watching? Worshiping? Waiting? I’m praying we all will know the great thrill & joy today of being in communion & relationship, in conversation with our Lord & God..Jesus made the way..He has come to live in us, by The Holy Spirit. Be with Him. Abide in Him. Make your abode in Him. Tabernacle with Him..may we be the tent in which our Savior comes to meet & speak with moment by moment, day by day.

“The LORD bless you & keep you; The LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; The LORD turn His Face toward you and give you peace.” Numb 6:24 & 25
